Gentle Yoga and Guided Meditation is focused on improving our mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health and well-being by using breath practices, gentle yoga, and guided meditation. Different guided meditation practices are done each class and include body awareness, visualizations, yoga nidra, mantras, affirmations, and mindfulness practices to help reduce stress and anxiety, improve clarity and focus and relax the body and mind. Classes are suitable for all levels, sizes, ages and abilities and can be done in a chair or on the floor.
This gentle floor class will employ the use of props- blankets (2–3) ; blocks (or books); strap (or scarf) and a bolster (or 2–3 pillows). We will stay in supported poses for long holds inviting the practitioner to fully relax the muscles, slow down mental activity, shift emotional patterns, bring ease to the breath and tune into the nervous system’s healing capacity. All levels are welcome and no experience necessary. Classes are suitable for most levels, sizes, ages and abilities.
This class is designed for those new to yoga or those wanting a basic gentle practice. This class will explore foundational yoga postures breaking down alignment, as we find a variation of the pose that fits our body rather than forcing our bodies into the pose. Breath practice and meditation will round out the slower paced class that will still bring a challenge both mentally and physically. Class can be adapted for those using a mat or a chair, and all sizes, genders, ages, abilities and experience levels are encouraged to attend!
